Goldberg Evans

Cincinnati Family Law Firm

Shawn and Trista came to me with a clear vision: a fresh brand identity for their newly established Cincinnati family law firm, Goldberg Evans. They wanted something modern and with a feminine aesthetic. I developed a brand identity that felt approachable yet professional, giving the firm a strong foundation to introduce themselves to clients and the community.

From there, I delivered a full suite of marketing assets, including business cards, letterhead, and a custom invitation suite to support Goldberg Evans’ go-to-market strategy.

Project Role

This was a solo freelance project where I owned the entire creative process from start to finish. Working directly and collaboratively with Shawn and Trista, I translated their vision into a cohesive brand identity and marketing suite that was ready to launch from day one.

Brand Identity: Developed and applied a complete visual system including logo, color palette, and typography.

Marketing Assets: Designed and delivered a full suite of print materials, including business cards, letterhead, and a custom invitation suite.

Client Collaboration: Worked closely with Shawn and Trista throughout every stage, from initial concept through final delivery, ensuring the brand stayed true to their vision.

The Challenge

Law firms have a look. Scales of justice, navy blue, and conservative typography have dominated the industry for decades. Shawn and Trista wanted something completely different, a brand that felt modern, feminine, and unmistakably theirs. That meant tackling two distinct challenges:

  • Designing a unified mark: Creating a monogram that incorporated both partners’ initials in a way that felt intentional, elegant, and symbolic of the firm’s partnership.

  • Standing out from the competition: Stepping outside the industry norm with a bold purple and gold palette that felt distinctive and memorable without sacrificing professionalism.

The Strategy

Goldberg Evans isn’t just a law firm, it’s a safe space for women navigating one of the most difficult chapters of their lives. The brand needed to reflect that. Rather than leaning into traditional law firm aesthetics, we built the identity around strength, femininity, and trust.

Here’s how we approached it:

  • Leading with femininity and strength: Choosing a rich purple and gold palette to convey confidence, sophistication, and a distinctly feminine presence that immediately sets the firm apart.

  • Designing a mark that means something: Creating a monogram that unified both partners’ initials into a single elegant symbol, representing the firm’s partnership and shared commitment to their clients.

  • Breaking from the industry norm: Stepping away from predictable law firm aesthetics like scales and navy blue to create something modern, memorable, and unmistakably Goldberg Evans.

  • Extending the identity through a custom pattern: Designing a signature pattern that pulled the brand together with a unique, ownable look, applied across business cards and the invitation suite to create a cohesive, polished system.

Experience was nothing short of exceptional

We had the pleasure of working with Krystle on the design of our law firm’s logo, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the very beginning, Krystle brought not only a sharp design eye but also a thoughtful, collaborative approach that made the entire process feel seamless and genuinely enjoyable.

Our final logo feels modern, professional, and perfectly aligned with the image we wanted to present. Krystle also helped us select a color palette that brings a fresh, refined tone to our brand — something we might never have arrived at on our own. Her ability to listen to our ideas, interpret our firm’s identity, and translate it into visual form was truly impressive.

The Outcome

From the moment Goldberg Evans launched, the brand made an impression. Shawn and Trista received consistent feedback on how elegant and sophisticated it looked, a direct reflection of how far it stood apart from the traditional law firm aesthetic. The invitation suite served as a strong introduction to previous clients and the community, giving women navigating divorce a sense of trust and comfort from the very first touchpoint..

What started as a brand identity has taken on a life of its own. Word of mouth has been a driving force in their growth, with client after client finding Goldberg Evans through the recommendations of others.
